Biography
Dr. Philip Measor is an assistant professor of engineering and physics at Whitworth University where he founded the Microdevices Lab. Prior to this, he held positions as a research scientist and applications development engineer at KLA-Tencor, the leader in semiconductor wafer process control. He also started a biotechnology company in 2010, LiquiLume Diagnostics, Inc., to bring molecular tests commonly performed in a centralized lab to the home. He served as the principle investigator of the company for two federal grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences. Dr. Measor also has served as a postdoctoral scholar in the Baskin School of Engineering at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC). He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at UCSC in 2010 under the tutelage of Professor Holger Schmidt. He has authored or coauthored over 40 journal or conference publications and holds patents in the areas of optofluidics and semiconductor process control.
Research Areas
Dr. Measor has performed research in the fields of semiconductor wafer process control and optofluidics. He is an expert in DUV to NIR imaging, wafer optical inspection, design-based inspection, DNA/RNA detection, particle manipulation, particle trapping, integrated photonic circuit design, integrated optical filter design and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) chemical sensing.
